At Gwinner
MobilityPLUS is now providing water based therapy to patients.
Stacy Deibert, PTA, CEAS, ATRIC received her training and certification through the Aquatic Therapy Rehabilitation Institute and Certification.
Aquatic treatment benefits include:
*Increased healing and strengthening of injured tissue
*Increased flexibility
*Improved circulation
*Increased resistance for stretching and strengthening
The buoyancy reduces gravitational pull and lessen forces through the body, making exercises easier to perform than on land. Warm water facilitates muscle relaxation and increases circulation. Best of all, it can be used even if a patient doesn’t know how to swim.
Aquatic therapy is ideal for the following conditions:
*Arthritis management/joint pain
*Musculoskeletal disorders
*Chronic back pain and lumbar stabilization
*Foot/Ankle/Knee/Hip pain
*Short term therapy and transition to land based rehab
*Strokes
Ask your therapist or physician if aquatic therapy would be helpful to your condition.
