Megan Beck joined MobilityPLUS Rehabilitation in 2018 as an occupational therapist in Valley City, ND. Megan earned her Master’s of Occupational Therapy degree in 2014 from the University of North Dakota, UND. She began her career as an Occupational Therapist in rural northern Minnesota working with patients of all ages, in a variety of settings – outpatient, inpatient, low intensity rehabilitation, and home care, with an array of conditions impairing their functional independence and activities of daily living (ADLs).
Through her career as an occupational therapist, she has grown to appreciate working with musculoskeletal conditions, neurological conditions, and developmental conditions that impair the individuals ability to participate in meaningful parts of their lives. She has clinical experience and confidence with upper extremity work-related injuries, surgical and non-surgical intervention of hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder, pediatric development of gross and fine motor skills, ergonomic assessments, pre-work and return to work screening, management and rehabilitation of neurological conditions, and custom fabrication of upper extremity splints. Megan is a certified lymphedema therapist (CLT), is certified in LSVT BIG program for individuals with movement disorders, such as Parkinson’s Disease, and clinical experience in Graston Technique, an instrument assisted soft tissue manipulation technique. She is a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association and enjoys providing learning experiences for occupational therapy students as a clinical fieldwork educator. In 2018, she presented at the ND Student OT Conference on the role of Occupational Therapy in Rural Health.
Megan and her husband live in the Valley City, ND area with their dog. They enjoy riding their ATV, being avid UND hockey fans, spending time with friends and family, and relaxing at the family lake cabin in South Dakota.
